Taking care of your mind is also part of innovation

World Mental Health Day is celebrated every October 10. For Brainlab Fira, this date is an opportunity to pause and focus on something we consider essential: behind every project, every idea, and every technological advancement, there are people.

We work in fields where innovation, creativity, and research are part of our daily routine. That means facing new challenges, constantly solving problems, learning quickly, and dealing with highly demanding situations. All of this can be stimulating, but it also requires balance.

That’s why we believe that talking about mental health within a company shouldn’t be limited to a specific date or a one-time event. It must be part of how teams are built, projects are organized, and work is understood.

An Environment Where People Can Communicate

For us, one of the most important aspects is fostering open and close communication among the people who make up the team.

Being able to say that a workload is too heavy, ask for help, rearrange priorities, or simply let someone know you need a break should be part of a healthy work environment.

Not everyone works the same way or handles stressful situations in the same way. Listening to and respecting these differences helps build stronger teams.

Productivity Also Requires Rest

In the tech and creative sectors, it’s easy to associate productivity with being constantly busy.

However, we understand productivity in a broader sense.

Taking a break, disconnecting for a few minutes, switching tasks, having a conversation with a colleague, or having a pleasant work environment also influence the quality of work.

Creativity and problem-solving require concentration, but they also require mental space.

People-Centered Innovation

At Brainlab Fira, we develop projects related to technology, education, culture, research, and new digital experiences.

But innovation shouldn’t be measured solely by what we’re able to build.

How we build it matters, too.

For us, technological progress must go hand in hand with creating a work culture where people can grow professionally without losing sight of their well-being.

The little things matter, too

Well-being at work doesn’t always depend on big initiatives.

It often starts with everyday aspects: having a comfortable workspace, being able to organize work in a reasonable way, feeling heard, stepping in to help when someone needs support, or recognizing the team’s efforts.

These are simple elements, but they have a direct impact on how people experience their day-to-day lives within an organization.

A conversation that must continue

Mental health is a complex issue, and there is no single way to address it.

Everyone has different circumstances, needs, and ways of coping with stress. That’s why we believe the most important thing is to remain open to listening and to keep learning as an organization.

World Mental Health Day reminds us of something that should be top of mind all year round:

Companies are built on ideas, technology, and projects, but above all, they are built by people.

And taking care of those people is also part of building the future.
